Registration and payment

The registration, payment and abstract submission is organized through EasyChair. Upon registration in EasyChair you will be linked to the payment page. The application that handles the payment supports credit/debit cards (VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Union Pay, JCB, Discover and Diners Club) only. After registration for the conference, participants can submit one abstract as a first author. Note that abstract submission will not be possible if payment has not been made. From April 30th onwards, you will still be able to register, but abstract submission will be no longer possible. If you are eligible for the student fee (undergraduate student, master student or PhD-student in the academic year 2021-2022) you are asked to upload a scan of your certificate of enrollment during the registration procedure (if this is not possible, please send it to ecvp22nijmegen@donders.ru.nl before May 1st). For other questions regarding the registration and payment, please have a look at our FAQs.

Registration fee

We are organizing an onsite ECVP in Nijmegen. We have two modes of subscription:

  1. ECVP participant (registration open)
  2. ECVP follower (registration opens later, after closure of abstracts submission)

ECVP participants:

ECVP participants are onsite in Nijmegen. Anyone who submits an abstract agrees to have the presentation (talk or poster) onsite in Nijmegen. Non-presenters are also invited to take part in the onsite events and enjoy all social benefits of an in-person meeting. For all ECVP participants the fee below applies. The fee includes all services, lectures, coffee breaks, lunches, reception (incl. drinks/food), entrance to illusion/demo night, entrance to farewell party.

Early Bird (before/until 30 April) Late Registration (after 30 April)
Students*, PhD students* € 260,- € 310,-
Senior (Postdoc to professor) € 365,- € 415,-

* You are eligible for the student fee if you are an undergraduate student, master student or a PhD-student in the academic year 2021-2022.

Additional options:

Please note: the above additional options can be reserved during the conference registration. We encourage all participants to decide beforehand about joining the conference dinner and/or bringing a guest.

ECVP followers:

The ECVP in Nijmegen is a 100% live event, but in order to allow people that are not able to come to the ECVP to get an idea of scientific progress in our field we will publish posters and recorded lectures online for what we call “ECVP followers”. ECVP followers cannot present talks or posters themselves, but will have the possibility to view the posters online (via Slack) after they have been presented at the live event, have access to recorded lectures (not live), and a possibility to discuss with presenters online via individual arrangements using Slack. If you wish to register as an ECVP follower (registration is free of charge), please fill out this form (link). For more info on how to use the ECVP Slack, see our subpage how to use slack.

Abstract submission and guidelines

Only after registration and payment an abstract can be submitted. Please note that the registration for the conference allows you to submit ONE abstract as a first author. During abstract submission you can indicate ‘talk’, ‘poster’, ‘no preference’ (note that there is also an option ‘symposium’, but this is only meant for authors for which an abstract has been assigned already to one of the selected symposia). During the submission process you will be required to indicate the area of your abstract from a topic list. Please, be as accurate as possible, since this will help the organizers to create homogeneous sessions. Note that, during submission, you may also add a few additional keywords in a separate box.

We aim to publish abstracts in the journal Perception. Abstracts have the usual form (title/authors & affiliations/abstract length max 250 words). Please, note that references are not allowed. Authors should put an emphasis on what they judge to be of greatest importance and interest, and, where possible, clearly state theoretical implications. Authors are urged to write as clearly as possible (in English). Please do not use abbreviations. The SI system of units should be used.

Deadline for abstract submission is April 30, 2022 (23:59, worldwide). Notification about acceptance and poster/talk decision can be expected in June 2022.

Cancellation policy

Please send possible changes for registrations and cancellations by email to: ecvp22nijmegen@donders.ru.nl. All changes will be confirmed by email.

Note: If the local organization has to cancel the onsite ECVP – which obviously happens only when it is absolutely necessary, e.g., in case of a new worldwide pandemic outbreak – ECVP participants will be reimbursed for a proportion of the fee after subtraction of all costs made. If this is more than 14 days before the planned start of the ECVP it will be approx. 80% of the fee. In the highly unlikely event that cancellation has to take place within 2 weeks before the conference, there will be no reimbursement of the fee, or only a small part thereof, again in such a way that all costs made by the ECVP organization are covered.
